About Us
History
L’Abrie De Dieu Safe House (reg number 050-482-NPO) has been in existence and serving the Stellenbosch and surrounding community since its inception in 2006.
Our services include sheltering women in situations of domestic violence, provision of social services, medical services, legal services, and reintegration within their communities of origin if possible.
The Safe House Stellenbosch is a social outreach mission that aims to address the plight of women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Furthermore, we also provide shelter for pregnant women in crisis.
We function as a community-based non-profit organisation, serving women and children of the greater Stellenbosch area, irrespective of race, language, and religion.
In April 2018 the constitution was changed to adapt to the increase in violence against women and children.
We also started initiating Gender Based Violence Workshops to increase our reach within the communities.
We started our strategic emphasis on trauma informed care and participatory action research firstly to increase awareness and dialogue and secondly to prove that peer learning amongst victims would increase effectivity of the program.

Vision
Safe House Stellenbosch is a place of refuge for abused women and children, as well as pregnant women in crisis. We strive to provide protection, comfort, support and healing in a homely Christian environment, restoring body, soul and spirit
